Alterações Hematológicas em Doença Renal Crônica e Lúpus Eritematoso Sistêmico: o papel do hemograma no diagnóstico e monitoramento clínico

The complete blood count (CBC) is widely used in clinical practice for providing essential information about hematological status and enabling the early detection of complications associated with various pathologies. Among these, Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) stand out for presenting significant hematological alterations, reinforcing the importance of this test in clinical follow-up. This study aimed to analyze, through an integrative review, the main hematological findings in patients with CKD and SLE, emphasizing the role of the CBC as a diagnostic and monitoring tool. The research, conducted in scientific databases, resulted in the selection of 16 articles, 8 of which were included in the comparative analysis. Decreased hemoglobin, hematocrit, red blood cells, and platelets, along with increased RDW, were observed in CKD, indicating a deficiency in erythropoietin production. In SLE, anemia, leukopenia, and thrombocytopenia were prevalent, associated with the disease’s immune activity. It is concluded that the CBC is essential in clinical follow-up, aiding in early and effective therapeutic interventions.
