O efeito do exercício físico supervisionado e domiciliar sobre o equilíbrio de indivíduos idosos: ensaio clínico randomizado para prevenção de quedas

O envelhecimento populacional tem ampliado os desafios relacionados às quedas em idosos, reconhecidas como uma das principais causas de morbidade, mortalidade e perda da independência funcional. Nesse contexto, o exercício físico destaca-se como estratégia fundamental para a prevenção de quedas, contribuindo para o fortalecimento muscular, o equilíbrio postural e a melhoria da mobilidade. Esta revisão integrativa da literatura teve como objetivo analisar a eficácia dos programas de exercícios físicos na redução do risco de quedas em idosos. As evidências apontam que intervenções supervisionadas e regulares, especialmente aquelas que combinam treinos de força, equilíbrio e resistência, são eficazes na diminuição da incidência de quedas e na promoção da autonomia funcional. Conclui-se que o exercício físico é uma ferramenta segura e essencial para o envelhecimento ativo, devendo ser amplamente incorporado em políticas públicas e práticas fisioterapêuticas.
